Pastoral Care Ministries
These ministries are coordinated by The Rev. Patricia Moore and the Pastoral Care Commission. The goal of pastoral care is to provide ministry to persons within the community who are ill, shut-in, living in care homes or other institutions, as well as those in crisis. Typically, the services provided to parishioners in need include transportation, visits, friendly telephone calls, meals, home communions, health access advocacy, and prayer. These services are coordinated by our Intake Coordinators. In addition, the Commission aims to provide health and wellness education for the congregation. Call the parish office if you would like to receive the services of our pastoral care team, or if you know of a parishioner in need.

ST. JAMES VISITORS
We focus our ministry of presence on members unable to attend church services, and on patients in convalescent hospitals. On the Second Sunday of each month, we lead a Vespers Service at Montgomery Convalescent Hospital at 11:30 am. On the Fourth Sunday of each month, we lead services at London House Convalescent Hospital at 2 pm and at Creekside Convalescent Hospital at 3 pm. We welcome you to join us as a St. James' Visitor, or to request our services if you are ill or hospitalized.

INTERCESSORY PRAYER CIRCLE
This is a mostly unseen but vital part of our pastoral care ministry, and, we believe, highly effective. Our purpose is prayer for parishioners, neighbors, our nation, and for worldwide concerns. We confidentially receive requests for prayer, for healing, for thanksgivings, for "all sorts and conditions," and pass these requests on to the heads of each of our prayer circles. The form and style of prayer is determined by the individual prayer circle member. Our prayer list is reviewed monthly. Those who for various reasons are not able to be active in parish life, often find this a rewarding ministry. Please call the church office for prayer requests or to become an Intercessor.

LAY EUCHARISTIC VISITORS
Lay Eucharistic Visitors are licensed by the Bishop to take the Eucharist to parishioners or others who are unable to attend church services. They visit, listen to, pray with, and offer the Eucharist to those who are sick or disabled or for some other reason unable to leave their homes. Training for this ministry is offered through the Diocese. Please contact the church office (579-2604), if you are interested in becoming a Lay Eucharistic Visitor, or if you desire a Visitor to bring the Eucharist to you.
